Papa Smurf speaks

I just could not resist the potty chair pic, it kinds make you want to dump on its face. Well just now we are watching three moms who are pregnant. The fourth says she is switching to bottled water so she doesn't get fragrant. Tiffany is on complete bed rest to the next two weeks until Jackson Tidrow completes that family. Good job Shawn 3 boys 1 girl. Stacey is Michael's significant other and she is hoping for an event in the next 2 or 3 weeks, however the due date is 22 nov. Suzanne is due in march so everythis is going niceley for her. Wow let me count Jonathan,Taylor,Lauren,Vanessa,Austin,Ashlynn, with Jackson, and Aiden coming very soon and "Bozo" due in March. Gee thats 9+.The plus is for Charity and Kinsley. I never imagined that many grankids, It is truly awesome. Now I must tell you about Angry Birds which I downloaded on the Ipad. I have gotten thru 20 levels and its addictive. My newest thang is the Arcade Baseball game called "Hit the Deck Baseball" and its a recreation of the old arcade pinball baseball game. "so cool" I am 187 out of 616 games or 30.3% done. The Pirates Bob Friend won his 10th tonight and the Giants lead the NL by 6.5 games and the White Sox lead the AL by 2.5 games. The game of choice here is Replay Baseball. I went thru my archives recently and sold 4 sets of old Replay cards and made $80 bucks. Not bad for an old curmudgeon. Well as John Bench says Catch you later.

Who Are These people

Bunch of goobers it looks like. Naw thats my sister Jeanine and her kids Richelle,Robb Rhett and Ryan. Hey Yall. Went to see Cars2 this week and its a winner. Plus I can't wait on the last Harry Potter movie. Went to my other sister's house on Wednesday for a cookout and games and fireworks and Dad in the pool. I guess old shit floats pretty good. He said he had a great time and really cooled off in Fern's pool. Mike is going to drill next weekend some where in Lawrence he says. Pat reports that Vanessa turned 4 Thursday. Shawn's wife Tiffany got bed rest from her doctor because of preclampsia symptoms during her pregnancy. Mikee's girlfriend Stacey has cervical cancer with hers. So its a stressful time for them. Tiffers and Shawn have decided to call this newest boy Jackson Andrew Tidrow. Stacey says she will call hers Adin Michael. I'm calling mine minnie me!~!! Haven't heard from Tim lately but he evidently won the household rummy game as Jessica was complaining about now she has to cook dinner clean it up, bathe Ashlynn, put her to bed, and change her diapers. Girls should know better than to play cards with us boys, they'll end up naked every time. See ya later, oh I forgot to tell ya Tropical Glen.com is a great oldies sight, I listen all the time.

Books Books Books

Well I owe my wife of 25 years an apology and "I am sorry." A few months ago she declared that I would need to get of lots of books, clothes, and stuff before their would be room for me in our new home (as yet undecided). I immediately paniced seeing my self alone in a room with one chair,a TV, my Nook, and one suit of clothes. I of course rebelled at this solitary notion. Next she put our home on the market and ripped out one of my bookshelves. Now I really worried, would I be left with no stuff at all! again I howled like a cat in heat. We had words in which she denied all of it and more. I of course ignored this. Well time passes and I am still harping on the subject. Until today. I have a bit of cabin fever what with the ice and snow and snow and ice and snow. Well I get the bright idea to join a book club rahter than going shopping and I asked mommy for permission and now I have 4 books on order (Washington,Colonel Roosevelt,For Us the Living, and Lincoln in 3D). Now I should have been happy but no not me I pressed on. Next I looked up my favorite place to buy books Amazon.com. And again I asked please. Again permission granted and on order is 3 more books at half price (Lion of Liberty,Fall of Giants, and New York Times Civil War Complete). Now thats 7 new books on order and all I have to do is select 12 old books from my archives to make room for the new. So I guess I am happy and sorry. And to top it all off I unexpectedly got the 2011 Swimsuit edition and Replay baseball 2010. Wow just plain Wow!!

has it really been 2 mos

Well lets see thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's came and went so happy holiday to ya all. I have found my self, started looking when my blog said I had no followers and I know some of you are out there. This was an attempt to force my self to write other things more and any way my hands hurt (arthiritis ya know). So that failed miserably. Lets see if I can remember what I got for Christmas. um......a Chicago Bears hat (go Bears) a new coat (size 6x but it runs small?) a leg lamp from the movie Christmas story, tickets to the play Wicked, and some surprises. Tim will be coming home in a week before being sent to his duty station at Ft Campbell,ky. Shawn is enrolled for another Ivy Tech semester. Mike turned 21, and Pat is Pat. Susan is giving piano lessons every day of the week now and she is begining to groan like I did 5 years ago. Ashlynn is nearly 6 mos old, and Austin is still the same crazy kid. Shawn's clan and we went to see Harry Potter vol 1 of last movie. It was great. Also saw Little Fockers. Later in the month I saw Meet the Fockers, so now all I need to see is the first one. I saw that the HOUSE passed a repeal of last years health care bill, but I don't see it getting by Obama. I bought the Strato all time nfl greats cards and have played 7 games thus far. Nfc 4 Afc3 brought about by the most recent Eagles 41 Chargers 31. Next up is the Chiefs vs Rams. I don't know if that catches me up by thats all for now and I'll be back soon.

Negro league all stars

Well today the new Negro League All Stars took the field against a crew of Hall of Famers, and at the Jamestown Stadium it was bring your pet day so naturally Ginger,Nutmeg, and Dice were on hand. Gingy and Meggers were content to run around in the outfield grass but Dice was intrigued with the game itself. She batted at the dice sniffed the scoresheet and pencil as well as the large blackdrop which moved when she touched it. She batted at the players pictures on the field, but her very favorite was the 20 sided dice. She continually batted at the curious object and on several occasions she tried to pick it up.
The game was won by the HOFers 5-3. Nlas William Bell gave up 5 runs on 14 hits including 3 by opossing hurler John Clarkson. Clarkson did not allow a run until the 7th and was the winner. NLAS only managed 7 hits and no homers were allowed in the game. It was Veterans Day but the veteran will not arrive until friday while leaving again on Sunday. It was a good afternoon with the light coming on at 4:50. The game itself took 54 minutes. As one fan put it "Dice likes Dice"

Halloween Fun

Well last weekend we had halloween and our 25th anniversary which was great fun. We combined both and had almost 40 guests. Sue had a poodle skirt outfit and I went as the "Big Bopper" JP Richardson. Got a new pair of jeans out it too. Our preacher was our good friend Margaret Lowe-Smith who did a marvelous job on the renewal vows. Dad was there as was Jeannie and Billy Wright, plus Ryan and Jessica1, Rhett and Jessica2 as well as little Ashlynn with her mom Jessica3 Stone. We played the newly wed game which was won by Pat and Suzzane. I learned things about my sons no parent need know, namely one was Speedy Gonzales, one was Ironman, and one was MIA in the bedroom(yech). All the grankids(6) were there as many friends like Lou and Marge, Tom and Patti, Russ and Lynn, as well as Roy and Nancy. Roy was either Brett Farve or Captain Underware ? Then we had the elections which was a big Republican,Tea party win. Unfortunately it will only cause more gridlock in Washington and Obama istn't wise enough to capatialize on it. After that Austin turned two and enjoyed his new toys including a hughe Orange ball which he quickly learned he could jump on and roll off. In the process I got to meet Dan Burton the congressman who won again.
the Pacers took two losses this week and will be searching for 3 tonight against Milwaukee. Also tonight Greenfield Central hosts Pendleton Hts who they have already lost to this season for the sectional championship. I bought a CD yesterday which boasts of 21 hours of cartoons which is about my speed. Thats all folks!!!

UNEXPECTED PLEASURE

Okay its friday and Russ, Lynn,Sue, and myself head out for lunch at Lonestar in Anderson and some "gaming" at Hoosier Park. Things went pretty well, I had a 10oz chopped steak with delicious steak fries( now I don't particularly like fries but these were excellent) and a cup of chilli which was also good. Now on a full stomach we or should I say they went gaming. For 3 or 4 hours the gamed I found some nice spots to stop and read. I am working on a Louie LaMour western and kinda getting into it. You see I am not a gambler but I love to read. We about that time Suwe,Lynn and I decided to go up stairs and leave Russ to his gaming. We we sat and chatted for almmost an hour when Russ had finally finished. We decided to grab a burger at a 50's join called Johnny Rockets. Bad idea for not great price worse and I became interested in what was going on behind me. So I tooled over to discover horse racing. Now I must say it was interesting. I have seen the Kentucky Derby on TV and such. My friend Tom has mentioned it, but I have never actually seen one. So while the rest of the group was finishing up (I eat 2x faster than all of them)I watched the 6th race at HP. The first horse I noticed was a big white horse number 2, and so to make it interesting in my mind I bet on him and later another horse was wearing orange colors, no 7. So they get in the gate and off they go for 6 furlongs. Early on ol no 7 is leading and he looks good. As they come down the strech and seemingly out of no where big white no 2 charges past everyone to win. I pump my fist into the in victory. Now I am having a good time. The 7th race was non descript but the rest of the gaong joined me. After another 20 minutes between races the 8th race was being set up. I had acquired a racing form by this time and read that "Jack in the Pulpit" was a favorite in this race. I told the group what I knew and Russ and Sue left our table. Now I am inside watching horse racing for free sitting at a table and everyone around me is having a good time, me included. Russ and Sue come back after both of them having placed bets on no 10 Jack in the pulpit. Our very first bet. Its a 7 furlong race and off she goes. Well Jack did not win but he finished second so I was very happy. So its getting late going on 9 and only 3 races left so we decide to leave go home and play euchre. Just to make it 3 different kinds of gambling we decide to all put in .50 which Russ and I win to cap off a very nice evening. Next up our 25th anniversary party next Saturday chose your costumes!
