Blagojevich Removed from office

Well after much ado I have found my way back here. I don't have my laptop back yet but I expect it and the Van before 2010. I watched The Governor of Illinois get removed from office today. He lost by a vote of 59-0. Which wasn't as bad as the high school girls team that lost 100-0 last week and it got the coach fired. I listened to most of the state senators explain the Gov. had in fact comitted many heinous acts. One seemed to be a person paying a bill to Illinois was required to make a campaign donation. Further he solicited many play for pay contributions from lobbyists. The big one was trying to sell Barack Obama's US Senate seat to the highest bidder. I guess he even considered Opra Winfrey. I watched because I have never actually seen an impeachment. It was as the senators said sad, embarassing, and necessary work. Since Illinois is a neighbor it must be like the neighbors spouse being divorced and arrested. Not a pretty picture. Well Shawn and family plus Russ and Lynn are coming over for the Superbowl party. I am not a hugh fan of the game but as Shawn said its a time for family and large samiches. Tim has settled on the south side working at Blockbuster near his home with Pat. Pat is working and going to school for his last semester. He will get an IU degree like me and Suzanne has a Purdue degree. All of us however are grads of IUPUI. I am proud of that! Susan is working to retire this season, and I hope she make it. I am having trouble navagating this thing since I am on a much slower, and clumsy machine. I will attempt to press on. I don't seem to be able to go back only foward. Well maybe I should end. The new Governor of Illinois is Patrick Joseph Quinn a 60 year old Lt. Gov who became LtGov seperate of the former one. So no hanky panky. I hope to Abe Lincoln the Illinois folks can get it together. Here is a work I heard today Agrandizement. If you are curious check your dictionary.

MIKE TURNS 19 ON 1-16-09

Well on Friday nineteen years ago Michael Douglas Tidrow was born in Greenfield,In. I remember that day, we had been there all night and finally Dr.Stouder decided to deliver Mike via c-section. I was there thru it all and even had a chance to clip the appendix but declined. Now Mike is a graduate of Mt.Vernon high school, is a crew leader at Penn Station resturant, has a girlfriend of going on 3 years, and is attending Ivy Tech University studying Criminal Justice. Oh and he can drive a car! Lets see what are my 3 memories? Okay when he was little he used to say "my dick has to pee". Second I will always remember him playing football and basketball. I am and was proud to see him outthere. Third I guess I remember spending time in the car helping him learn to drive. I know that I could think of others but these are the first to come to mind. I know I could have mentioned Mike, Shawn, and me traveling across the east coast visiting Civil War battlefields. It was the best. Birthday was at OCharlies, shopping at Meijer, he got a game chair, a couple of movies, and a game. I also remember a month or so ago being at home with our grandson Austin throwing one of his usual fits and hearing Mike say "Why would anyone want one of those". My answer is because they grow up to be Mike,Shawn,Tim, and Patricks. Sons a dad can be proud of.

The Corn Pone Kid by Harold Sheldon

From October 1950 Baseball Digest is an article about the Philadelphia Phillies thirdbaseman Willie Edward Jones. Willie was born 8/16/1925 in Dillon S.C. He began playing baseball at home and enlisted in the Marines during WWII. After the war he came home and played in the Palmetto League. Places like Kingtree, Bishopville, Camden,Florence, Darlington, and Sumpter. Some guy from the Philadelphis A's tried to sign him but it was Sunday and Willie didn't want to get up. Johnny Nee from the Phillies came later in the day and signed him to a $17,500 contract. He was in Hartsville and met a girl at the switchboard. he told Carolyn Goadson, "You look like someone I'd like to marry. They were married that fall. That was after the 1946 season in the Palemtto League where he hit .507. At Spring Training in Clearwater,Fla he was heavy and Sam Chapman called him "fat boy". They made him lose weight and sent him to Terre Haute,IN. where becasue of losing weight he stopped hitting. His wife started cooking and they sent him to the Three-Eye League where he hit .307. Eddie Sawyer called him to Toronto where he promptly got beaned. The next day he refused to take the day off and got 4 hits. He ran into slump and Manager Sawyer asked him what was wrong? He told the manager that his wife was ready to have their first child. The manager told him to bring her up to Toronto. "nothin doing, Why he could never be President of the United States" remarked Willie. Eddie Sawyer became the Phillies manager in 1948 and he told coach Dusty Cooke to work with him on fielding. In 1949 he led the N.L in outouts and assists. Willie Jones played professional baseball from 1947 thru 1961. He passed away on October 18, 1983. This story from 59 years ago is the reason I like Baseball Digest. I get to learn about people and their story. I will never feel the same about Willie Jones and I like that.

WELCOME 2009

Its a year of change, challenge, and opportunity. Or thats what they said on bloomberg tv, which I am not sure means anything. I have been off for a week. Its my
period of mourning for the Indianapolis Colts loss to the San Diego
Chargers. They were bad all year, enough said. Rooting for the Colts
is difficult because I have always been a Chicago Bears fan. Just because they moved into town I don't feel the need to be a huge fan. They are really 3rd on my list. I followed the Cincinnati Bengals since their begining. I remember John Stofa, Paul Robinson and even Paul Brown. Change in 09 should bring Pat graduating from College, Susan retiring, and who know what else. Challenge is in everything but specifically Mikes firt year in post secondary education, Austin's first year, and blah. Opportunity again is in every challenge but specifically Tim can lay down some goood roots (even if its for the wrong reasons). Shawn will complete 1 year as a Husband, Dad, and another year with Indiana Mentor. You notice I have not mentioned me and I won't. I am using the Ipod Mike gave me and the 5 albums I most wanted are now loaded on. Can you guess my top 5 albums.....okay here goes 1. Beatles 1 2. Glen Miller a legendary performer 3. Cher live 4. Southern Rock 5. Shania Twain come on over. Well honorable mention goes to Tom's British Invasion. Opps mentioned Tom so I must mention Jennifer. Jennifer. Pat came back from Christmas in Orlando. He brought some souvernirs and said he missed his technology at home. He suffered a tragic loss. On the way to our house he lost his phone. He retraced his steps and found it, only to discover a truck had obliterated it. I was impressed that he was savy enough to recover the sim card which had all his stuff on it. Anyway he is back in action.
