Labor Day

This is a serious subject. My good friend of over 30 years Tom Mink had apparently a mild stroke on Monday. It started on Sunday when he had some minor mishaps and on Monday going to visit a friend he got lost and had a fender bender with his car. The friend call his wife and she drove him to the hospital. He has been there since then and is undergoing some tests to try and determine the root of the stroke. So far the effects have been mininal. I say that knowing for the moment everything in his life is disrupted. His main problem is the inability to translate words and numbers into action with his hands. He reads find, speaks well, seems physically ok but the other thing has some holes. For instance when asked to draw a clock he couldn't put the numbers on the clock. He can't use a keyboard right now or dial a phone. Hopefully those things will come back. It makes one realize the frailty of life. Another thing is I made a post on facebook and twitter and several friend found out about his troubles. It helps keeping us connected which is a good thing. Tom, my Dad, and I believe you must play the hand you are dealt in life. We all will continue to do what we can with what we have.
