Memorial Day

Well today is race day and the indy500 runs in just under an hour. I am getting the vibe that Helio Castroneves is going to get his 4th win but who knows. Usually by now I have run the race using Tom's racing game however it got lost in the shuffle and I can't find it. I am planning on eating chicken and listening to the race on radio like I have done since I was a baby. We even have cold chicken left from our trip to Russ&lynns on friday. So it will be a feast. Today is Memorial Day honoring those who gave their lives in service of their country. Bless'em all. Also Tim Stone sustained his first injury in his military career. He broke his knee cap and a bone in his face. How'd he do it you might ask? On the obstacle course, in a fight, maybe during a mock battle. Nope, he fell out of bed. Needless to say he now sleeps on the bottom bunk. Speaking of injuries Ashley who also has a second job burned herself working at Einstein's Bagles. We of course wish a speedy recovery to all. I have 2 draft league baseball team and the one from the 70s had its first pick and I took the 27 best all time leftfielder Jose Cruz. Susan had two recitals this week so she is rcovering from that. Tom and Patti are coming over this evening to watch the race, which one I don't know. We had dinner with Pat,Suzzane and Vanessa last week and Olive Garden was very nice. Okay the race is 25 minutes away and I'm rooting for Danica Patrick, Sarah Fisher, and Scott Dixon. In closing I would like to honor my Dad,Quinn Dobbins,Tim Stone, for serving in the Armed Forces. Thanks Guys.

Goodbye MR Comcast

Well the deed is done. Comcast is gone from our home and we are happy to rid ourselves of them. In the begining the were the way to go but after cutting channels, raising prices, and forcing us into digital, we had had enough. Thus Direct TV is what is on TV and Hancock County Telecom is whats online. So far the change is for the better. DTV has more channels and more sports and HCT has just as fast service. The installers were very nice although the Direct did not have an ID card. Took Dad to the grocery yesterday and he was very happy chatting about the Reds and telling me stories about his cousin Dick Fletcher. Mike gets to be an usher at a wedding tomorrow inbetween working two jobs and getting no sleep. Welcome to the real world my son. Pat competes in another Magic tourney this weekend with his wife Suzanne telling him "go win me a trip to Amsterdam". Brother Shawn commented "only thing there is Beer,Drugs, and Whores" Sounds like a cool place to me. Still no word on what Tim's vocation in the Army will be. Today is 15 May which traditionally is Pole day at the 500. Went to it for many years but now I don't know hardly any of the drivers and there is no pole day today because it is now scheduled for next weekend. NASCAR has opened a can of whoopass on the 500 and it shows. Go Jeff and Tony!!

Almost A Month

It seem like a long time and it has been almost a month since my last post. So lets see. We went a small resort near Ft.Wayne and saw Mickey Rooney and his wife of 37 years perform. She was a great singer and he was well Mickey Rooney at age 89. In face he is only 12 days younger than my dad. The show was average but we really liked Jan's singing. So of course we got some MR films and have watched a couple. Tim has not heard about what new Job he will have in the Army after not making the cut for Combat Medic. Now thats not bad as their daughter Ashlynn Kennedy Stone is due in September 10. We are excited for Tim and Jessica and hope everything is smooth for her delivery. Mike is staying with Pat working 2 jobs trying to make ends meet, as is Ashley. Pat has been winning some local prize money playing his magic game and hopes to win even more this weekend at a larger tourney. We are rooting for him. Shawn and Tiffany recently had oops better not tell you now. No they are in the final stages of quailfing for the home on Reed Court. He only needs about 6 mos of good rental history. You know if you count wives, grandkids, and girlfriend we are closing in on a little immediate family of almost 20. We have been off line for 6 days and I learned 2 things. A not having a computer is torture, I gues I have come to rely on it for so much. Plus these service providers have very little ability to get the job done. We also have switched to direct tv for television. Now that the dust has settled it seems like a nice change. Daughter in law Jessica Stone came over for Mother's Day and we had an impromptu dinner with Shawn, Tiffany and Austin. Both were very nice. Jessica seems to be having mood swings and anger management issues with this pregnancy. I am sort of healthy, saw my regular Dr last week and was told to report to an endocrinolosgist about some weight loss plan. I welcome this as a little help could help me on the road to losing. Shawn just called and Austin sounds like a Teradactyl screaming and Tiffs says "I said no" and he sreaches his monster scream. Sue is giving piano lessons just now and Dice was sent to the banished area with me. Dice (the kitty) is not a happy cat. Meow ya later
