SURGERY WENT FINE
I got up this morning at 4:30am and we (Mike, and myself) were at the Indy Ortopedic Surgery Center on W. 86th st by 5:27. Not long after that Susan was in a room preping for a full knee replacement. At 7am they took her back to surgery. At about 8:37 we got a call that she was fine and in a recovery room. Very close to that Dr.Fisher came to talk to us. He said the surgery went fine and he had some worn out pieces of metal that looked like he was working on his faucet in the bathroom. He showed me just how worn out these pieces were, kinda like a mechanic showing the parts he replaced and why. These were the parts in Susans knee. From there it was around 11am that we were told she was in a room.(no 216). They good part was that she had no restrictions, like no cathiter, no eating restrictions, and could go ahead and rest. At about 2:30 the therapist Stuart helped Susan move her knee around for about 30 min and again said she could do whatever she felt like. Sue had a grilled cheeze and pretzels for lunch with a Diet Coke, She had a Blt and macaroni for dinner with Diet Coke. We were visited by family Shawn, Pat, Tiffany, Devin, and Lynn. Rita was our nurse and she took good care of Susan and the Hospital staff seemed very organized. We are happy that all is well and Sue is on the mend.

There's some intereting videos on modern knee replacement surgeries you can watch
knee replacement videos
Very enlightening. Especially the one by the doctor who demonstrates how the surgeries are done.
Also some info on managing pain and post operative rehab.
